My name is Mindy Ahrens. I am married with six children! While most of them are grown, they still come home to eat a meal and visit. Our home has always been busy and full of excitement. There is never a dull moment. Our pugs are part of our family. They share our beds and even our pillows. We would not have it any other way!
My name is Joan Shaw . I am married with three children, twelve grand kids and of course my two pugs. Two of my three children have built homes on our original homestead and my third child is just a few minutes away. I love when all the kids come over and spend time with us, but when they leave Georgia Rose and Ollie Belle make sure that we continue to have entertainment.
Seven years ago, pugs came to be a part of our families. Little did we know how much joy and entertainment that they would bring to us. Ollie Belle and Peanut are the original gang. They each have unique personalities. In 2019, we decided to add to our grumble. We were searching for pugs that had their genetic testing, met breed standards and who were realitively close to Florida. We looked for several months without any luck. It was during this time that the idea of Heartstring Pugs was born. We were on Lake Chatuge, out in Anchor Cove surrounded by beautiful mountains. I casually mentioned that maybe we should research and begin raising pugs. Mom was all in! I did not need to convince her. She had been thinking the same thing. After several more months of searching, we found Georgia Rose and Presley Grace. We are excited to share this journey with you!
